As part of Datasphir’s efforts to build capacity, we are excited to announce the launch of our Student Outreach Initiative. This initiative aims to facilitate knowledge sharing, offer mentoring, and create internship opportunities to support students’ development in Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), and Open Science Infrastructure. By promoting Open Science and enhancing employability, we aim to strengthen students’ skills and prepare them for future technology challenges.
To kickstart this initiative, on July 29th, 2024, Datasphir’s Business Operations Manager, Florence Iweha, officially handed over a carrier-grade router with 10G interfaces and Wifi-6 enterprise access points for an eduroam pilot at NitHub to the Ag. Director, Dr. Victor Odumuyiwa, at the University of Lagos, Akoka campus. eduroam is a secure, worldwide roaming access service developed for the international research and education community.
Our 2024 focus will include activities designed to build on this foundation. Specifically, the Federated Identity Bootcamp scheduled from September 25th to 27th, 2024, will provide students with hands-on experience with digital identity management and prepare them to explore these advanced technologies to local access challenges.
